What scrub oil base is best for your skin?

As well as an exfoliant scrubs contain a oil base to nourish the skin. There are many oils suited to be this base, and plant-based oils have some amazing benefits alongside the obvious moisturising benefits. Here I will outline the benefits and why I chose these particular oils for Juliette’s body scrubs.

1) Cold Pressed Grapeseed oil

  •  Grapeseed oil is a great all-rounder. Suitable for all skin types including acne-prone and sensitive skin
  • Antioxidant properties
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Has high amounts of omega chain fatty acids and Vitamin E and C that is known to help with skins softness, elasticity, and moisture retention
  • Is a light oil that does not clog pores
  • Can assist with premature aging and may help stretch marks, fade scars, and fine lines giving firmer-looking skin

2) Cold Pressed Olive oil in body scrubs

  • Contains antioxidants that assist in fighting environmental damage

3) Castor Oil

  • Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, therefore achieving two results at once. Castor oil hydrates (great for dry skin)  and the ricinoleic acid fights bacteria
  • Has good anti-inflammatory properties that assist with irritated skin
  • Helps to stimulate collagen production and elastin
  • Aids in removing dirt and grime from the skin
  • Well known for its healing properties Castor Oil assists with fighting eczema, rosacea, and dermatitis and like type issues
  • Rejuvenates the skin, leaving it soft and smooth

4) Fractionated Coconut Oil

  • Fractionated coconut oil is the queen of cleansing by removing gunk and dirt without removing your skins natural oils
  • Amazing for Normal to dry or sensitive skin
  • Fantastic carrier oil for essential oils
  • Fractionated coconut oil is high in vitamin A, E, and C
  • Contains antioxidants to aid in firming the appearance of aging skin
  • Has properties to nourish and balance your skin health
  • Soothes razor bumps and razor burn

5) Rosehip seed oil

  • Contains fatty acids make rosehip seed oil an excellent option for hydrating irritated, dry skin
  • The human skin easily absorbs rosehip seed oil, this allows powerful antioxidants to seep deep into the layers of skin
  • It is a non greasy, dry oil
  • Fabulous for all skin types
  • Rich in vitamin A (retinol) and C Rosehip seed oil assists in skin cell regeneration and boosting our skin’s radiance
